FAQs:
Q: Why do I hear gaps of silence
in my mix?
A: If you hear long gaps of silence in your mix, it
is probably because some of your MP3s are encoded
as VBR (Variable Bit Rate). The bit rate of a VBR
MP3 changes throughout the MP3, making it difficult
for My Mix to determine its length.
To fix this problem, you should
encode your MP3's at a fixed bit rate. We suggest
using 128 kbs or 192 kbps.
Q: What should I do if burning
a CD fails?
A: If the burn fails when making
a CD, try again using a different blank CD. Sometimes
defective blank CDs can cause burn failures.
If you are still getting a
burn failure, try using a different brand of blank
CD, since some brands work better with certain CD
burners. Often times purchasing high quality blank
CDs from a company with a brand name that you recognize
leads to success.
If you are still unsuccessful,
restart your computer and try again. Sometimes CD
burners need to be reset by restarting your computer.
However, you can always work
around the problem by choosing to export your mix
as multiple wave files. This option is in the manage
menu of My Mix. After exporting your mix as multiple
wave files, you can burn them to CD by using the CD
burning software that came with your drive. Adding
exported files in the same order is easy because they
are prefixed with numbers, causing them to load in
the same order as they were in your mix. Some software
may require that you set the time between tracks to
zero seconds, so there are no pauses in your continuous
mix.
